KABUL (Pajhwok): First vice president Amrullah Saleh said on Wednesday that two people had been arrested in connection with destruction of power pylons.
A statement published on Saleh’s Facebook page read that implementation of the Kabul Security Charter continued with seriousness and discipline.
The main focus of the progress was on security of Arghandi Paghman area - Musahi districts - Khak-e-Jabbar - Surobi - Kohdaman - West Kabul - the pursuit of major criminals, especially abductors of civilians.
He added implementation of the protection program of power pylons was a priority and two armed insurgents involved in blowing up of power transmission towers had been arrested.
He said two Special Forces officers were killed and two others injured during an operation to arrest the suspects, adding that details in this regard would be provided later.
Saleh said: “A few days ago, I reviewed the follow-up statistics. In the strategic planning, all that was promised has been done.”
According to him, physical and mental security in villages --- neighborhoods and streets of Kabul has improved compared to the previous six and a half sessions.
