GARDEZ (Pajhwok): At least five civilians were killed and four others wounded as a result of a bomb explosion in southeastern Paktia province on Monday.
Police spokesman Hayatullah Nizami said a Corolla vehicle struck a roadside bomb in the Ahmadabad district of the province today morning.
He said two children, two women and two men were traveling in the car. “Five individuals were killed and a woman seriously injured. Three children were also injured at the blast site.”
Abdul Karim, a resident of the district, claimed militants had planted landmines on most highways, creating difficulties for the people.
“The Taliban have planted landmines on highways, threating those who oppose their actions,” he claimed.
