KABUL (Pajhwok): An earthquake of magnitude 4.7 on Thursday jolted the capital of eastern Nuristan province, a report said.
The quake struck at an intermediate depth of 91 km beneath the epicentre near Parun at 8.58am, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) said.
As seismologists reviewed data to refine their calculations, a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) put the quake magnitude at 4.5
Besides Parun, the quake was also felt in Asadabad, the capital of Kunar province.
