Afghan govt rejects TTP presence in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday said the Tahreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) was never created in Afghanistan and neither the group had any activities in the country.

A statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) received by Pajhwok Afghan News said that the Afghan government was treating all terrorist groups, including the TTP, without any differentiation and was fighting them without any siding.

The statement said the Afghan government had been stressing implementation of UNSC resolutions and Doha peace agreement based on which the Taliban should cut ties with other terrorist groups in the region and on the international level, including with the TTP.

The Afghan government asks all countries, particularly Pakistan, to stand against terrorist groups in a joint effort and without any discrimination for the security in Afghanistan and prosperity in the region.

This comes as Pakistani interior minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmad in a press conference had asked the Afghan Taliban not to allow TTP to operate against Pakistan.
