Public Protection Dept officer shot dead in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): An official of the Public Protection Department was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in the Pul-i-Charkhi area of Kabul on Monday.

A security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that Besmillah Ghafari was gunned down at around 10am in limits of Kabul’s 16^th police district.

He said Ghafari was a resident of northeastern Badakhshan province. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the killing.
