A dozen injured in Nangarhar bicycle blast

JALALABAD (Pajhwok): At least 12 people were wounded when a bomb-rigged bicycle exploded in Jalalabad, the capital of eastern Nangarhar province, on Tuesday.

Police spokesman Farid Khan told Pajhwok Afghan News the blast ripped through a crowd of people in the Dosrak area of 7th district.

It was not clearly known where the explosives had been planted but a bicycle was found in the area and it was believed the bomb had been planted on the bicycle, he said.

The police official said 12 people were wounded in the blast.

Gulzada Sangar, a spokesman for the Regional Hospital said, 12 civilians injured in the blast had been delivered to the hospital and all of them were civilians.

An eyewitness, Safiullah said, the explosives had been planted on a bicycle and most of the injured were people selling vegetables on handcarts.

There was no claim of responsibility for explosion.
