KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of liquefied gas, flour and gold has increased following a three percent increase of the US dollar value against the Afghani currency, market source said Saturday.

The value of Afghani currency also decreased by 1.2 percent against Pakistani rupees.

Haji Dadgul, deputy head of Sara-i-Shahzada Moneychangers Union in Kabul told Pajhwok Afghan News that one US dollar accounted for 81.5 Afghanis and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 500 Afghanis, compared to last week’s rates of 79afs and 494afs respectively.

He said that the value of the domestic currency was fallen following worsened security and political situation in the country.

“Besides bad security situation, poor leadership in the Da Afghanistan Bank (DAB) also caused Afghani lose its value against foreign currency, particularly US dollar, DAB previously was offering 50 million Afghanis to the market weekly but now it offers 30 million,” he said.

He said that people try to exchange Afghani to US dollar following the deteriorated security situation and collapse of many districts to the Taliban.
