AIBAK (Pajhwok): A police officer was killed and six government forces were wounded in a blast in Shinwari district of central Parwan province while at least two Taliban were killed and six others wounded in Hazrat Sultan district of northern Samangan province.

In Samangan, according to the police headquarters, government forces launched an operation in Kokjar area of Hazrat Sultan district on Saturday.

The source claimed without elaborating that 35 armed Taliban suffered casualties in the operation

Local residents, who did not want to be named, said two Taliban were killed and six others were wounded in the operation.

They said that one member of the uprising was also killed in the battle.

The Taliban have so far said nothing in this regard.

Parwan Governor FazluddinAyar said that a roadside bomb exploded on a convoy of government forces in the Stamah area, killing Deputy Commander of Shinwari Police Command.

Eight government forces were wounded, including two National Directorate of Security soldiers, three uprising members and three police in the blast.
