KABUL (Pajhwok): The Attorney General Office (AGO) says it has suspended two prosecutors over corruption charges, pending an investigation.

In a statement, the AGO said one of the prosecutors belonged to Kapisa and another to Takhar province and they were suspended following the recommendation of the General Directorate of Control and Monitory.

The prosecutors were being interrogated after a complaint from a citizen as they allegedly demanded money from him.

According to the statement, the AGO was currently investigating the matter as the office was committed to implementing the law. “No one is above the law,” the statement concluded.
