Governor’s secretary, guard killed in Kandahar blast

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Secretary to the governor along with a bodyguard were killed in a magnetic bomb blast in southern Kandahar province on Sunday.

The blast happened near the governor’s house this afternoon.

A security official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told Pajhwok Afghan News that a sticky bomb had been affixed to the vehicle of the governor’s secretary, Mansoor Ahmad.

He said Mansoor and his bodyguard were killed and a second bodyguard was wounded in the blast.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the incident.
