SAR-I-PUL(Pajhwok): Eight Taliban insurgents have been killed and nearly a dozen more wounded in clashes with security forces in Balkhab district of northern Sari Pul province, but the rebels claimed killing 15 government forces.
Noor Agha Faizi, police spokesman, said the Taliban attacked security forces in Dizdan Valley area of Balkhab district but security forces backed by uprising members repulsed their attack.
He said eight Taliban attackers were killed and 11 others wounded in the firefight.
