HERAT CITY (Pajhwok): The third one-window operation centre for the processing of export items documents opened in western Herat province on Tuesday, an official said.

Commerce Minister Nisar Ahmad Ghoryani said in the past it took one week to process export related documents of items.

He added in the new facility 19 government institutions had been reduced to six under one roof will process export items documents in one hour.

“This facility is for exporters, in the past an exporter was able to process his documents from three to seven days. Now within an hour things will be finished,” he added.

Ghoryani said by offering more facilities to exporters the export of the country is expected to reach $2 billion this year.

He said this year the country export showed 21 percent surge in first three months of the on-going solar year.

Younis Qazizada, head of the Herat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said with the creation of new facility for exporters there will be drastic surge in export from the western zone of the country.

“Despite insecurity and spread of coronavirus our export in the western zone surge by 20 percent and without any doubt the creation of this facility will be more helpful,” he said.
