KUNDUZ CITY (Pajhwok): Forty-one people were killed and 568 others injured as a result of on-going conflict in northern Kunduz province, an official said on Tuesday.
Governor Spokesperson Esmatullah Muradi told Pajhwok afghan News besides security forces civilians also suffered casualties due to on-going clashes in the province.
He said 41 people, including 24 security personnel, two women and 17 civilians, were killed and 568 others injured.
“We collected these facts and figures from Zonal Hospital, Provincial Hospital and Private Hospitals,” he said.
An NGO working to collect casualties data said in the past two weeks 20 civilians were killed and 133 others injured.
Haji Habibullah Shah, the resident of Sah Darak locality of Kunduz City, said his nephew was killed and three other family members injured during past two weeks clashes.
He asked government and the Taliban to reconcile because fighting could take not side to victory.
