Atmar off to Tajikistan to attend 4th Afghanistan-SCO CGM

KABUL (Pajhwok): Foreign Affairs Minister Mohammad Hanif Atmar heading a high-level delegation left for Tajikistan on Tuesday morning to attend the Fourth Meeting of the Afghanistan Contact Group (CGM) within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) framework, according to a statement.

The Foreign Ministers meeting will be held on July 13 -14 with the participation of eight member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and Afghanistan in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

The meeting is aimed at discussing Afghanistan’s membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, SCO’s cooperation with Afghanistan in the joint fight against terrorism and extremism, and the security situation in Afghanistan and its repercussions on regional stability and prosperity.
