Taliban overrun Kapesa’s Nijrab district

MAHMOOD RAQI (Pajhwok): The Taliban have captured the Nijrab district of central Kapesa province, a well-placed security source said on Monday.

After the fall of the district security forces conducted airstrike on the Taliban in which 12 Taliban were killed and eight others injured.

Security forces have been preparing to retake the districts, according to the source.

The resident of locality who wished to go unnamed acknowledged the fall of Nijrab district and said the Taliban were in the district centre.

The Taliban also confirmed capturing Nijrab district.

It is worth mentioning that the Taliban have captured over 160 districts in the past two months.
