KABUL (Pajhwok): The head of the Afghan government’s delegation to Qatar on Tuesday said the international community was part of the Afghan crisis and should help Afghans achieve peace.
Mohammad Masoom Stanekzai wrote on his Twitter account that the people of Afghanistan were becoming ‘victims of the temptations of foreigners’ every day. However, he did not elaborate.
Stanekzai said the Taliban’s refusal to negotiate with the Afghan government was giving birth to new troubles and would prolong the Afghan conflict.
He said ceasefire and an end to the killing of Afghans was the only way to build trust in peace talks and then move forward.
Taliban insurgents have recently increased their attacks and have so far taken over a number of districts.
Talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban, which began in Qatar 10 months ago, have been sluggish and the two sides have so far agreed on procedural rules.
