KABUL (Pajhwok): Security forces have retaken the Kaldara district in northern Balkh province from the Taliban, a statement from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said on Monday.
Security forces alongside local uprising members have launched operation to free the district from the Taliban, the statement said.
Twenty Taliban were killed, scores injured and some flee the district as a result of the operation.
It is pertinent to mention that the Taliban have captured over 180 districts in the past two months. Government, however, claimed liberating 25 districts from the Taliban.
