MAHMUD RAQI (Pajhwok): Seventeen Taliban insurgents, seven members of a pro-government force and two civilians have been killed during separate clashes in Nijrab district of central Kapisa province, local sources said on Tuesday.
Nijrab district chief AbdulQudoosMujadidi told Pajhwok Afghan News Taliban insurgents and pro-government force clashed in Dara-i-Farukhshah and Dara-i-Kalan areas of Nijrab district.
He said 17 Taliban insurgents, seven members of pro-government force and two civilians including a woman were killed and five other members of the pro-government militia were wounded in the clashes.
Without elaborating, he said, some bodies of Taliban insurgents remained on the battleground.
But a local resident, who wished anonymity, said 20 members of the pro-government force had been killed and wounded and Taliban taken away some of them. He added that he was unaware of Taliban casualties.
The Taliban have not yet commented in this regard.
