KABUL (Pajhwok): Led by Taliban’s head of Qatar office Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, a nine member Taliban delegation is visiting China.
Taliban’s Qatar Office in a statement said the delegation was visiting Beijing on an official invitation.
The statement said the Taliban delegation would hold separate meetings with Chinese foreign Minister, Wang Yi, deputy foreign minister and Chinese special envoy for Afghanistan during the visit.
The statement added that China and Taliban would discuss political, economic and security matters and also the current situation in Afghanistan and the intra-Afghan peace process during the meetings.
The Taliban said they had assured China that Afghan territory would not be used against the security of any country.
The statement added that China had pledged expanding its cooperation with Afghanistan and said they would not interfere in Afghanistan affairs, rather they would assist in settling the problems and bringing peace to the country.
Taliban’s Qatar office delegation has lately visited Russia, Iran and Uzbekistan.
