KABUL (Pajhwok): Higher Education Minister Dr.AbbasBaseer on Wednesday said as many as 450,000 state and private universities’ students would be vaccinated against Covid-19 and students refusing to be vaccinated would not be allowed entry in their educational institutions.

Addressing reporters here, the higher education minister provided information regarding the lunch of in-person studies in the country’s educational institutions.

He said: “With the spread of coronavirus in the country and according to the health recommendations of the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Higher Education was forced to close the country's educational institutions, which started using online e-learning system, but due to problems in having enough electricity and internet in the country and the lack of familiarity of a number of professors and students with this system, a number of students stayed away from the online education process.”

He said in the view of above challenges and problems faced by e-learning system the ministry had decided to launch the administration of vaccination in the educational institutions from August 07. He said the drive will cover 450,000 state and private universities students.

He thanked the MoPH for ensuring the availability of vaccine for all students and university staff members and asked students not to miss the opportunity of vaccination.
