KABUL (Pajhwok): India has conveyed to the US that New Delhi is against the installation of an authoritarian regime in Afghanistan, Indian Foreign Minister J. Jaishankar told Indian parliament on Thursday.
Jaishankar’s statement comes after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Wednesday visited New Delhi and exchanged views on a range of issues including Afghanistan.
Jaishankar said the US and India agreed to oppose any government in Afghanistan that comes to power through force.
He said Afghanistan’s problem has no military solution, adding no side could take over by force. India alongside international community would work together to find political settlement to Afghan issue.
It is worth mentioning that on Wednesday US foreign secretary Blinken warned if the Taliban strive to take power by force, Afghanistan would be declared a Pariah state.
