Torture of wife: Uruzgan man, father detained

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Police in central Uruzgan province have arrested a man who tortured his wife along with his father.

The provincial police chief said the man, along with his father, initially shaved the head of his wife and then subjected her to beating.

Brig. Gen. Mohammad Azim Hashimi told Pajhwok Afghan News both men had been arrested and were currently being interrogated.

Hashimi added police found the woman with a shaven head and her hands chained.

The victim confirmed she was tortured by her in-laws, including her husband and father-in-law. She called for early dispensation of justice.
