Taliban claims killing Paktika deputy police chief; police in denial

KABUL (Pajhwok): The Taliban have claimed the killing of deputy police chief of southeastern Paktika province in Kabul, but police rejected the Taliban claim.

Taliban Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid on his twitter page claimed that Abdul Qadir, deputy police chief of Paktiak province was killed in a tactical attack in Kabul on Sunday.

But Police Spokesperson Firdos Faramarz told Pajhwok Afghan News Abdul Qadir, a common man was killed in the limits of 12th Police District by his colleagues after verbal clash turned violent.

“It is a criminal incident and according to our information Abdul Qadir did not worked as deputy police chief of Paktika,” he said.

He added the incident was being investigated and more information will be shared with the media.
