‘More than 17,000 land grabbers identified’

KABUL (Pajhwok): The government has identified over 17,000 land grabber and stressed on the prevention of further land usurpation, a minister said on Wednesday.

Justice Minister Fazal Ahmad Manavi, while chairing a meeting of the High Board of Government Disputes, discussed various issues pertaining to preventing usurpation of public property.

The meeting discussed how to implement provisions of the regulation on informal urban property affairs, practical problems in implementing the extradition agreements of government cases and the procedure of board performance and meeting arrangements.

Manavi stressed greater cooperation between relevant government institutions of the board and added the Administrative Affairs Department of the Presidential Palace will also lend their cooperation.

“Problems must be resolved in the understanding between the departments, especially through the technical committee of the Board. Although the country is in a critical situation, it is important to continue to provide services,” he said.

A member from the Urban Affairs Ministry and Land Authority said over 17,000 land grabbers had been identified with all detail of the land they had grabbed.
