KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghan government has demanded the UN Security Council (UNSC) to take effective decision during its special meeting on Afghanistan to help improve the situation in Afghanistan.
Geran Hewad, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told Pajhwok Afghan News the Security Council will hold its special meeting on Afghanistan today (Friday) in its headquarters in New York.
He said special UNSC meeting on Afghanistan highlighted the fact that the world was concerned over situation in Afghanistan.
“We hope the Security Council will demand an immediate halt to the Taliban aggression, reduction in violence and halt to ongoing human rights violation launched by the Taliban.”
He said the UN had been asked to lend support Afghan government six months security plan and provide support to Afghan air force.
