ASADABAD (Pajhwok): Ten thousand families have been displaced as a result of recent clashes in the Ghaziabad and Narai districts of eastern Kunar province, an official said on Monday.
Governor Iqbal Saeed said 6,000 of these displaced families have re-settled in Kunar province and 4,000 have migrated to Nangarhar province.
According to survey teams 3,154 families identified as need and distributed food and none-food said worth 70 million afghanis.
He said the survey of displaced families was underway and 10,000 families who earlier migrated to Asadabad, the provincial capital had been excluded from the new survey.
Some displaced families had been provided shelter in school building while some had been distributed tents.
Governor Saeed thanked all government and none-government institutions that helped distribute aid among displaced families.
