PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): A sub-campus of the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) will be set up in Peshawar for Afghan students, says an official.
Kamran Khan Bangash, special assistant to the chief minister on higher education and information, made the announcement while speaking to Afghan students here.
“Pakistan and Afghanistan, having brotherly both, share the same religion, history, culture and borders,” the official remarked.
The special assistant said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was extending massive support to Afghan students through scholarships and equal academic facilities.
UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain welcomed the recently enrolled Afghan students to the university.
A total of 175 Afghans were enrolled in the ‘Zero Semester’ course. They will apply to different universities after receiving foundation-level training for two months.
