KABUL (Pajhwok): High Council for National Reconciliation chairman Abdullah Abdullah on Sunday said President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani had left the country, “but God will hold him accountable.”
Abdullah made the remarks in a video message, addressing Ashraf Ghani as the former president. He said the people of Afghanistan would hold him accountable.
He said the Taliban should have given the peace talks a chance to move on and then should have entered Kabul so that people would not be harmed.
It is unknown when and where President Ghani left for.
Acting Defense Minister Bismillah Mohammadi wrote on his Twitter page: “He (President Ghani) tied our hands behind our back and sold his homeland. Curse on Ghani and his supporters.”
A foreign news agency reported that President Ghani left Kabul for Tajikistan.
