KABUL (Pajhwok): A scheduled trip of senior Afghan political figures to Qatar for talks with Taliban has been delayed, sources said on Tuesday.
A Hezb-i-Islami spokesman said Dr. HCNR chief Dr. Abdullah, Gulbadin Hekmatyar and former president Hamid Karzai were scheduled to travel for Qatar today.
They plan to discuss with the Taliban the formation of the next government in the country in the wake recent developments.
Karzai and Abdullah said in a joint video message on Monday evening that they were striving to normalise the situation in the capital Kabul.
