KABUL (Pajhwok): The former Afghanistan government delegation in Qatar has sought asylum in Doha until the inception of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
Wishing anonymity, a member of the Afghan negotiating team, said their 20 members were present in Doha.
He said they had urged the Qatari government to grant them asylum until the inception of an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
The source said the majority of the delegation members wanted to stay in Qatar until the situation become normal in Afghanistan.
“We don’t want to seek asylum in Qatar or any foreign country, most of our delegation members want to return to Afghanistan once the situation there returns to normalcy”.
Peace negotiations in Doha kicked off last year but could not produce effective outcomes.
