FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): The Taliban have released 340 security personnel in western Farah province, an official said on Saturday.
Police chief Maulvi Mohammad Idrees told reporters the security personnel were freed after several months of detention from different prisons.
He added: “These inmates were released and sent home today in compliance with a decree from the leadership of the Islamic Emirate.”
Abdul Rahman, one of the freed men, appreciated the Taliban step, expressing happiness over being reunited with his family.
