KABUL (Pajhwok): Seventy-two new coronavirus cases registered and six patients have died in the past 24 hours from coronavirus, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said on Sunday.

In a statement the MoPH said 539 positive cases brought to different laboratories in the country during the period in which 72 cases were positive taking the total number of coronavirus in the country to 152,583.

Of the newly registered cases, 22 tested positive in Badghis, 16 in Kandahar, 12 in Uruzgan, nine in Balkh, seven in Badakhshan, four in Takhar, two in Kabul.

Six coronavirus patients have died in the past 24 hours taking the total number of fatalities to 7,076.
