PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is all poised to discuss the situation in Afghanistan today (Sunday).
The OIC secretary-general informed Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi of the extraordinary meeting on Saturday.
In a phone conversation with Qureshi, Yousef bin Ahmad al-Othaimeen said the executive meeting in Jeddah would bring together ambassadors and permanent representatives.
APP news agency quoted him as saying the participants would exchange views on the rapidly changing situation in Afghanistan.
For his part, Qureshi promised Pakistan would continue to play a constructive role in promoting sustainable peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The foreign minister warned about spoilers within and outside Afghanistan, who wanted to take advantage of the situation in the country.
