PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Awami National Party (ANP), denouncing violence and terrorism in Afghanistan, says it is not against the Taliban.
ANP’s provincial general secretary Sardar Hussain Babak said this while addressing a convention of party workers in Bajaur tribal district.
“Let me be clear that our party is not against the Taliban, but is only against bloodshed, which has plagued the neighbouring country for decades,” Babak explained.
The ANP believed in democracy and non-violence and opposed all sorts of violence in Pakistan or Afghanistan, he added.
He commended former president Ashraf Ghani’s decision to leave the country in order to avoid possible bloodshed in Afghanistan.
If Ghani had stayed in Kabul, the country would have plunged into chaos and turmoil, the ANP leader believed.
