KABUL (Pajhwok): The Taliban on Monday said Afghans should not go abroad as they would find jobs with implementation of new economic plans that would put the country on the path of self-sustainability.
ZabihullahMujahid, head of Cultural Commission and spokesman of Taliban, told a gathering of Islamic scholars in the Loya Jirga hall in Kabul today said that the Americans wanted to damage Afghans during their withdrawal and they encouraged Afghans to move to other countries.
He said that the Americans moved Afghans to countries which had no resources and were like prison.
The Americans did not provide facilities to migrating Afghans in the Kabul Airport and Qatar, he said, adding that the Taliban had repeatedly assured people that their lives and assets were protected in Afghanistan and they should avoid going abroad.
According to reports, thousands of Afghans have been evacuated from Kabul Airport while thousands others are waiting for their turn. In the airport, stampedes and fires had so far killed 21 people with dozens others injured.
Mujahid said that the Taliban did not want an autocratic government system but a system that could respond to people and eradicate corruption.
Government officials should not fear losing their jobs as no one would be removed from jobs because the future government needed different cadres, he said.
He said that the priority of the new administration would be working on the country’s economic foundations.
“There is plan for it, extraction of mines and implementation of TAPI gas pipeline project and similar projects would be implemented under the new administration”, he said.
Mujahid hoped that Afghanistan will soon become self-sustained in economy. The new administration will also work on collecting addicted people and provide them medical treatment, he concluded.
