PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): An influential Pakhtun nationalist party has urged all Afghan factions to join hands for resolving the crisis in Afghanistan.
Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ameer Haider Khan Hoti called for the parties to find a solution acceptable to all Afghans.
Addressing a convention of party workers in Swabi district, Hoti promised the ANP would continue its struggle to restore peace in Afghanistan.
A former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, he peace in Afghanistan would be a welcome development for Pakistan and the wider South Asian region.
When the former Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, Hoti recalled, the late Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan advised the Pakistani rulers to stay away from the superpower rivalry.
He pleaded for Afghan girls’ access to quality education, saying the door of knowledge should not be slammed on them.
