Karzai, Abdullah assuage Kabulis concerns

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Former president Hamid Karzai and chairman of High Council for National Reconciliation (HCNR) Abdullah Abdullah on Tuesday assured Kabul people that their efforts were on for people’s full security and solution to their problems.

Karzai in a tweet today said that he and Abdullah today met with a number of local representatives of Kabul and residents.

“Kabul people expressed their concerns, problems and suggestions in this meeting and they asked for solution to them,” Karzai said.

He added they talked with the people about the ongoing situation and establishment of a government where all the people would be represented.

This comes as Taliban took control of Kabul around a week ago and the movement’s officials currently are in talks with politicians on creating a new administration.
