KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): Kandahar Governor Haji Wafa has said private vehicles taken from some individuals would be returned, movement of armed people in the city would be banned, security would be provided to individuals served in the previous regime and security personnel would be given special uniform.

Wafa said this while a dressing a huge gathering of religious scholars in the Mandkak Palace on Monday.

“Individuals who worked in the previous regime should come back to their homes confidently we will ensure their safety and security. Ulema should give confidence to these people their assurance is our assurance. In case of need we will ensure their security,” he said.

He said in the Provincial Council of Kandahar City member of the commission are present and people could register their complaints with them.

This comes that the Taliban after capturing Kabul have started searching public homes and taken vehicles from them.

Governor Wafa, however, stressed that every public property or vehicles taken from some individuals would be returned to them.

He said security personnel would soon get special uniform in order to prevent the movement of unknown armed men in the city.
