KABUL (Pajhwok): The Indian foreign minister on Thursday briefed political leaders on the evolving situation in Afghanistan, The Hindu reported.
Jaishankar told an all-party conference (APC) that getting Indian personnel out of Afghanistan was the government’s priority.
The situation was critical in the wake of Taliban’s takeover of the war-ravaged country earlier this month, the external affairs minister said.
Union Minister and Leader of the House in Rajya Sabha Piyush Goyal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi also attended the meeting.
The Taliban had failed to keep the promises made in the Doha agreement, which they inked with the US last year, the participants were informed.
Opposition parties had earlier asked the government of Prime Minister Modi to brief them on the crisis in Afghanistan.
