KABUL (Pajhwok): Eighty-five people, including 28 Taliban,13 US soldiers, have been killed and over 150 others injured in Thursday blasts close to Hamid Karzai International Airport (HKIA) in capital Kabul, according to various sources on Friday.
According to the Pentagon the nature of the first incident was a suicide explosion while the second blast happened close to a hotel in the airport vicinity. Over 15 US soldiers have been injured in the incidents.
Reuters reported 28 Taliban, 13 US soldiers were among those killed in the blast while 17 US soldiers injured in the violent incidents. Taliban, however did not spoken about their personnel casualties.
According to reports Daesh also known as the Islamic State of Khorasan claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The Taliban Spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said the blasts happened in areas where US forces were in-charge of the security.
The attacks drew condemnation from the UN, EU, NATO and a number of other countries.
Senior Taliban member Suhail Saheen condemned the attack and added it happened in areas under US forces control.
