KABUL (Pajhwok): Kam Air has rejected reports of transferring its airplanes to neighboring Iran, but said the planes were temporarily parked outside due to security threats in Kabul Airport.

The source said that the airline would restore its normal operations and flights once civil aviation services fully activated in Kabul Airport.

In a statement, Kam Air said that some media outlets recently reported that the airline’s planes were transferred to Iran. It said that the reports were baseless.

Following recent changes and incidents in the country, all civil aviation systems in Kabul Airport disrupted and the airport is under the control of foreign forces, the company said.

It said that three of their planes which arrived to Kabul Airport for landing were not allowed to land due to terrorist attacks in the airport.

The company requested officials of Iranian civil aviation to let these planes be parked at their airport for a temporary basis until the aviation services at Kabul Airport restores, the Iranians accepted the request and the company thanks them, the source said.

The statement said that some media outlets published baseless reports without contacting them and the matter created concerns for people.

The company said that it temporarily avoided to move its planes to Kabul Airport but it would resume operations once civil aviation services reactivated in the airport.

Thousands of Afghans rushed to the Kabul Airport after the Taliban took control of Kabul. The US and some other countries promised to take move Afghans who worked with them to their respected countries from the airport.

On last Thursday, more than 100 people, including 13 US service members and 22 Taliban fighters, were killed and 150 others including 17 US soldiers wounded in an explosions at the Kabul Airoprt.
