US forces blow up final CIA outpost in Afghanistan

KABUL (Pajhwok): As they prepare to leave Afghanistan, American forces are said to have destroyed the final CIA base in Kabul.

The outpost outside the Kabul airport was destroyed on Thursday, hours after two powerful explosions ripped through the facility, killing over 100 individuals.

The New York Times reported a controlled detonation was used to blow up Eagle Base, where Afghan counterterrorism forces and intelligence agencies were trained.

US troops at the Hamid Karzai International Airport are assisting with frantic evacuations of American citizens and Afghan allies.
