Uruzgan without electricity since last week

TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): Electricity supply to departments and residences has been cut off in the capital of central Uruzgan province since a week, badly affecting daily life.

Sami Sharafat, in charge of electricity in the province, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the electricity supply had been suspended because the diesel-run generators had become faulty.

He said it was not yet known when the generators would get fixed to restore electricity.

Sharafat said he had shared the issue with the central office and they had promised to generators, but they were yet to receive them.

On the other hand, residents, government employees and departments in Tirinkot are facing serious problems due to the lack of electricity.

Najibullah Latif, a resident of Tirinkot, told Pajhwok they were facing problems since the power was suspended.

Mohammad Nasim, an employee of a department, said their affairs had stopped after the electricity suspension.
