KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) says two trains carrying commercial goods arrived in Afghanistan from Uzbekistan on Wednesday – the first after the fall of Ashraf Ghani’s government,.
An ACCI official, who did not want to be named, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the goods included petroleum and food items such as flour, oil and more.
The two trains with commercial goods reached Hairatan port in Kaldar district of northern Balkh province from Uzbekistan via the railroad.
He called the arrival of these goods as pleasant news and hopeful, adding that it would have a positive impact on reducing the prices of materials that raised due to recent developments.
However, due to the change in the political system, the country’s exports and imports have also been affected, and as a result, the prices of goods and oil have increased by nearly 10 percent compared to last month.
