KABUL (Pajhwok): Mullah Baradar, the head of the Taliban's political office, will lead the new government in Afghanistan, some sources within the Taliban confirmed to Reuters on Friday.
Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, the son of late Taliban founder Mullah Omar, and Sher Mohammad Abbas Stanekzai will take senior positions in the government, the sources said.
“All key Taliban leaders have arrived in Kabul and preparation for the announcement of new government entered final stages.
Earlier senior Taliban leader Abbas Stanikzai told BBC that the new Taliban government will be announced soon.
On Thursday it was said that the Taliban will announced new government after Friday prayer but late in the day the Taliban told Pajhwok Afghan News that final decision about the announcement of new government has not taken yet.
