UN to keep supporting Afghans, Baradar assured

KABUL (Pajhwok): Taliban’s co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar has held talks with the UN’s top humanitarian official in Kabul.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Martin Griffiths assured Baradar of UN’s continued support to Afghanistan.

The visiting UN under-secretary general promised to extend cooperation in this crisis, Taliban spokesman Mohammad Naeem tweeted.

Ahead of his arrival in Kabul, the British diplomat had expressed his concern over the situation in Afghanistan, where thousands have been internally displaced as a result of war.
