PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): The Taliban have suspended the return of Afghan citizens to their country via the Torkham crossing point, a Pakistani newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Unnamed security officials in Torkham told Dawn that vehicular traffic continued as loaded vehicles from sides crossed the Durand Line.
Though the exact reason for restricting movement of Afghans returning to their country could not be ascertained, local sources.
In an effort to cross into Pakistan, hundreds of Afghans have gathered at the Afghan side of the crossing, hoping that regular pedestrian movement would resume soon.
According to the daily, security officials have not yet received any orders or intimation regarding the reopening of the crossing for pedestrian movement.
