KABUL (Pajhwok): Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid has rejected as a baseless a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report that the Islamic Emirate committed war crimes in some areas of Afghanistan.
On Monday, HRW said the Taliban had committed war crimes in Panjsher and other provinces during the past few months of military advances in Afghanistan.
The Taliban spokesman and deputy minister of culture and information, Mujahid, wrote on his Twitter account: “We strongly reject the HRW report that the mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate have committed war crimes.”
The rights watchdog should not fall prey to false information and should avoid issuing groundless reports, the Taliban spokesman asked HRW.
Mujahid called on the organization to take a closer look at the area and dig out the facts.
