KABUL (Pajhwok): The Taliban say the new caretaker government is working on a plan to create a strong regular army.
Qari Fasihuddin, the acting army chief of staff, said in an interview on Wednesday that the plan would be finalised soon.
Speaking to a private TV channel, he believed Afghanistan should have a strong army for its defence.
Former soldiers and officers would be part od the new army, Fasihuddin told TOLOnews. He promised the Taliban would ward off internal or external security threats.
