KABUL (Pajhwok): The United Nations Security Council has called for the Taliban to set up an inclusive and broad-based government, including women.
In an unanimously-passed resolution on Friday, the powerful UN body underlined respect for human rights, including for the rights of children and minorities.
There is no woman in the 33-member caretaker government announced this month by the Taliban. By the same token, the cabinet has no representative from other political groups.
Also on Friday, the Taliban instructed all boys in grades six to 12 and male teachers to return to school and resume classes from Saturday (today).
The resolution sent a unified message that they stood behind UN efforts in Afghanistan going forward, said Norway and Estonia.
